“ am usually at a Matter of Health every two weeks to stock up on their tuna salad which I use to make sandwiches. I used to get my stock in a fish store walking distance from the apartment. However, they charge twice as much for the tuna and it's not even wild caught (they show the regular tuna cans in their counter). Luckily, found something much better in the Upper East Side. A Matter of Health is probably the most fully stocked store of anything organic you will need. Usually, am here for the tuna though will also get 72% dark chocolate, bread, chips (so many kinds), coconut juice, fruits ( bananas, blueberries, grapes, kiwis, etc), wagyu hotdogs, buns, ice cream, shampoo and the list goes on. Prices are reasonable for organic stuff compared to other places. Place is usually busy after office hours and even early on the weekends (everyone seems to have the same idea but all end up coming at the same time) The juices are pretty good and it depends on what you need the juice for. Lot of other sandwich spread choices aside from tuna as well. The store has practically everything one may need (perishable or non perishable). If you decide to come here more than once, you should sign up for their promo to accumulate purchase points. This allows you to get credits to your purchase usually at the end of the year. There is also a guy making fresh sushi. Right beside this area is where they serve hot soup (maybe 4 types) perfect for for a cool day. I highly recommend visiting this store if ever you are in the Upper East Side. As I mentioned, it has almost everything one needs that is organic. Check it out. ”

“ Superb mom-n-pop health food store w knowledgeable supplement and nutrition staff. Kind and engaged cashiers overall, give or take a few oddball interactions as can be expected over the seven years I’ve been going here. This place is better than Whole Foods in terms of health. Prices are fair, sometimes cheaper or more expensive than Whole Foods, it varies. There’s a clearance section for skincare, which can yield some good finds for essential oil and product experimentation. Matthew, somewhat of a host for the supplement-skincare room In the back, has a Masters in nutrition and is the go-to–person—from what I’ve seen from harried customers demanding his attention—for discussing solutions for health issues. The prices are very fair, sometimes unbelievably cheap. E.g. that purified aloe that never goes bad, which I use for skincare. And their great selection of filling health bars and snacks to eat when you want an inexpensive portable meal. Their takeaway coffee is amazing for I think only 2.75 and it’s organic! Sometimes they run out of stevia but they’ll refill it if you request. Agreeable and diligent staff. I haven’t tried much of their produce yet, but you can get a good range of fresh produce that looks amazing, and they carry locally made baked goods, which I appreciate from an ethical standpoint. I only wish they had more locations. They did have one on First and and 77th but I didn’t care for it too much, and besides, they closed. So this one is the only one I know of. Thank goodness they made it through COVID. Enjoy this neighborhood gem! ”

“ My go to shop for organic snacks when I’m in the area (which is several times a week). They have great prices overall, and a good rotation of sales. Their organic produce is also well priced and a good selection as well. Chocolate selection and pantry (dish soaps, parchment paper etc. ) are great. A store that cares about health for real!! Haven’t had any issues with service , but I don’t expect much. Security guard at the door is kind. ”
“ The gentlemen at the deli counter are friendly and courteous. Kim and Javier always greet me with a smile. They are meticulous. The gentleman at the sushi section is accommodating and friendly. The food is always fresh and nothing is out of date. Kudos to the gentlemen in the vitamin department. They are well versed in the products. I miss Gabriella the cashier. The entire staff is amazing. ”
